Finding Best Friends Forever Quotes
Finding Best Friends Forever Quotes
The Reason For My Quest.
As a former teacher, I knew a lot of young girls. They were really into their friends. They'd often talk about how they were best friends forever or bffs with a bunch of girls. Granted, this group of girls they called bffs would change every week, depending on the drama. However, sometimes, they'd even wear necklaces proclaiming their bff status.
A couple years ago, knowing I was a history teacher, some girls who were my students asked me if I had any best friend quotes they could put on posters they were drawing for each other. Although I didn't want them drawing in my class, I laughed at such a request. But honestly I couldn't think of any quotes throughout history that spoke about having an eternal best friend.
I did a little research for these young ladies and finally found a place (squidoo) to share the results of my search.
The Greeks Loved Their Bff.
Many of the best bff quotes I found came from ancient Greek writers and philosophers. Aristotle had some amazing things to say about having friends. He wrote the insightful quote: "friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies." His friend and fellow disciple of Socrates, Plato provides another great quote: "friends have all things in common." Another Greek philosopher who spoke on topic of friendship was Euripides who said "one loyal friend is worth ten thousand relatives." If you had an annoying family you're probably shaking your head in agreement right now!Emerson's the Friendship Guy
Another great source of best friends forever quotes was American writer Ralph Waldo Emerson. I can tell by his writings, that he has a good understanding of deep friendships. I'll be it was fun knowing Emerson. He wrote "A Friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of Nature" and "The only way to have a friend is to be one." I find great wisdom in the latter quote. We can talk about friendship all day. But, the only true way to experience it is to actually go out and live it.Marlene Dietrich Gets It
The actress said: "It's the friends you can call up at 4 am that matter." Isn't that true?! To me this quote sums up having best friends forever quite well. Anyone can be a good acquaintance or a fair weather friend. I'll admit that I have a lot of good friends, but how many would I take a phone call from four in the morning? I admit, it wouldn't be very many! However, those are the kinds of friends we need.In Conclusion
I hope you find this article helpful. Having best friends forever is a blessing. If you have a best friend, why not share with them the quotes I linked to under the first and second headers? I think you'll both enjoy them.
